Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy is a practice in which the body and mind are eased into a very relaxed state, allowing both bodily sensations and external stimuli to fade away, and for the subconscious to be directly accessed.
In the hypnotic state, or trance, the subconscious mind is much more responsive to directions or suggestions for positive change. This is called “cognitive flexibility”. Carefully crafted suggestions aimed at the subconscious can quickly lead to substantial changes in unhelpful or unhealthy behaviours, thought patterns and ways of being, which all influence our daily lives.
Hypnotherapy is a form of neuroscience, and it is backed by decades of scientific research and analysis. As our brains are intrinsically adaptable, the changes that can result from the state of cognitive flexibility in hypnotherapy can positively and permanently alter the neural pathways in your brain, leading to a more meaningful and powerful life of your choosing.
In our sessions, we can combine cutting-edge somatic trauma-informed hypnotherapy techniques with personalised transformational coaching, as well as other somatic and psychological informed techniques to make it much easier for your brain to process new suggestions, allowing us to create deeply profound and lasting changes. Working with your own subconscious mind, in a safe and caring environment, we may seek to get directly to the root cause of a pattern of thinking, acting or being, including considering key moments in your life where you may have created unhelpful beliefs or unhealthy patterns of behaviour or ways of being. Through appropriate suggestions to your subconscious, we can change those to new, healthier systems of thinking, acting and being.

FAQs
DOES HYPNOTHERAPY WORK?
Yes. Hypnotherapy is one of the quickest forms of making transformational change of old patterns of thinking, acting and being that no longer serve you. It is available to anyone. Your subconscious mind is a vast resource, and by accessing it, we can offer new directions or suggestions to make the changes you would like in your life.
IS IT SAFE?
Yes. With my assistance, you will enter hypnosis, or trance, through a deeply relaxing technique that will help your conscious mind and physical body to enter into a calm and relaxed state of being. As with many forms of somatic therapy, you may experience a variety of emotions during hypnosis, but this an entirely natural somatic process and I will support you with any processing of emotions or feelings while in hypnosis, and afterwards.
WILL I BE ASLEEP?
No. Throughout our session, you will remain awake and completely aware of our session. Hypnotherapy leads to a relaxation of your nervous system, facilitating a conversation, with suggestions, between me and your subconscious mind. You are completely aware of this conversation.
WILL I LOSE CONTROL?
Absolutely not. You are awake and completely in control at all times during a session. You cannot be made to do, say, think or accept anything that is not agreeable to you. How deeply you enter into the state of hypnosis, or trance, will depend on your willingness to relax and “let go”. While I will serve to guide you into trance and make suggestions to your subconscious, the session remains completely your own experience and is always fully controlled by you.
