Positive Psychology

Positive psychology is a branch of psychology that is used alongside many psychological and somatic focused therapies and focuses on the common character strengths and behaviours that allow individuals to build a life of meaning and purpose - thus allowing them to move beyond surviving to actually flourishing - and most importantly, to being happy. Martin Seligman, PhD, Christopher Peterson, PhD, and Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, PhD, are considered to be the founders of Positive Psychology. Practitioners and researchers in this form of psychology seek to identify and promote the elements of a good life, as well as to use methods and practices for improving individual life satisfaction and well-being. These methods and practices are often also scaled to apply to corporations, organisations and institutions as well.
